Some of the work we do to look after the site.

Hazelbrook Bushcare this Sunday January 18 – The Gibbergunyah at the Rock Wells Gloria Park

Hello,

Well it has been a month but it feels just like yesterday. Last month it was quite warm and towards the end of Gulanga at Horseshoe Falls I was definitely feeling a bit worn out.
Normally I would have had Garang Landcare on the Lilypond, Garguree Swampcare and 3 Birriban Landcares by now but due to the break I have just been lazing about.

So I watched some cricket and then I got up moved to the other couch and watched some more cricket. I think I have become a bit lazy.
This will be my first workday in a month so it will be nice to get back on Country to do some chatting, cuppa’s and regeneration.

Gibbergunyah from 9am to 12pm at the Rock Wells Gloria Park Hazelbrook.
Same as last month working on freeing up all the plants from the weeds.

Then Gulanga from 1pm to 4pm at Horseshoe Falls Reserve at the end of Alexander Avenue.
We still have a good amount of mulch to spread out.
All going well we will be doing Streamwatch when we first arrive then onto the mulch.

We now have a website for Gibbergunyah https://gibbergunyah.bushcarebluemountains.org.au/ as well as for Garguree http://garguree.bushcarebluemountains.org.au/
We will have one for Birriban, Garang and Gulanga soon as well. Hopefully I can keep these all up to date each month.

Hope to see you all there and feel free to invite others.

Thank You,

David King

Gibbergunyah is Gundungurra for rock shelter.

In Gloria Park Hazelbrook there is a rock shelter which used to have Aboriginal art and is just next to a set of rock wells which were used traditionally. Our group is trying to maintain what is left of these sites.

We meet either at the rock shelter behind the war memorial in Gloria Park.

Or up near the overhead walkway on the highway at the top of Gloria Park where the remaining rock wells remain.
